From Flight to Paradise: Your Route to Island Time
Getting to Catalina Island is part of the adventure… We want to make it as smooth (and scenic!) as possible!
The easiest route is to fly into Long Beach Airport (LGB). From there, you’ll head to the Catalina Express ferry terminal, where your ocean escape begins.
To keep things simple, we’re covering group transportation from Long Beach to the ferry, BUT coordination is key!

If you prefer to handle your own travel to the ferry, overnight parking is available for $24.95 per day at the ferry terminal.
Travel Tips & Packing Suggestions
A few things to make your trip even smoother:
Plan for 4 Days
Arrive to LGB Airport by Thursday before noon and depart Sunday after 2 PM to travel with the group. This gives you time to settle in, enjoy the island, and fully soak up the wedding weekend without rushing.
Pack Light (Just a Carry-On!)
Island travel is much easier when you skip the checked luggage. Catalina’s ferry requires guests to manage their own bags, so we highly recommend packing light. Think resort casual and comfortable — you won’t need much!
Dress for March Weather
Catalina in March brings mild, sunny days (mid-60s to low-70s) and cooler evenings (mid-50s). Bring layers! Here’s what we suggest:
Light layers: cardigans, linen shirts, jean jackets
Daywear: breezy dresses, linen sets, shorts, polos
Evening: a light sweater or wrap for ocean breezes
Comfortable shoes for walking around town
Swimsuit (optional) — even in March, heated pools and hot tubs are open!
Bonus Tip: The island vibe is relaxed, so think “effortless coastal chic.” Neutrals, whites, terracottas, and blues photograph beautifully against Catalina’s backdrop.
